Oracle Integration Cloud:
Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) is a cloud-based integration platform that allows users to integrate applications and data from various sources. It is the third-generation integration platform from Oracle, following on from its previous offerings, Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Integration Cloud Service.
Oracle Integration Cloud: Gen3
Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Gen3 is the latest version of the Oracle Integration Cloud platform. It builds upon the previous two generations of the platform, providing a more modern, cloud-native architecture that offers greater flexibility, scalability, and agility.
Here are some of the key features of OIC Gen3:
-
Modern architecture: OIC Gen3 is built on a
modern, cloud-native architecture that leverages microservices,
containers, and Kubernetes. This architecture allows OIC to be highly
scalable and flexible, making it easier for organisations to build and
manage integrations at scale.
- Simplified user experience: OIC Gen3 offers a
simplified user experience that makes it easier for users to design,
develop, and manage integrations. The platform includes a visual design
environment that allows users to drag and drop components to create
integrations, as well as a range of development frameworks and APIs for
creating more complex integrations.
- Enhanced security: OIC Gen3 includes enhanced
security features, including support for mutual TLS authentication,
OAuth2, and OpenID Connect. These security features help ensure that
integrations are secure and that data is protected.
- Pre-built connectors: OIC Gen3 includes a range
of pre-built connectors for integrating with popular SaaS applications,
such as Salesforce, Workday, and ServiceNow. These pre-built connectors
allow users to quickly and easily create integrations without the need for
custom code.
- Hybrid integration: OIC Gen3 supports hybrid
integration scenarios, allowing users to integrate applications and data
between cloud and on-premises environments. The platform includes a range
of tools and services for integrating applications and data between
different environments, making it easier for organisations to build hybrid
integration scenarios that meet their specific business needs.
- Advanced analytics: OIC Gen3 includes advanced analytics capabilities that allow users to monitor the performance of their integrations and gain insights into their integration environment. The platform includes a range of dashboards and reports that provide real-time visibility into integration performance, allowing users to identify and resolve issues quickly.
Provision OIC Gen3:
1. Login to OIC Console: Developer Services. Under Application Integration, click Integration.
2. Select the appropriate compartment and then click on Create instance:
3. Enter Display Name, Version(OIC Gen3), Consumption Model, Edition, Shape, Licence Type , Message Packs and Tags

Limitations of OIC Gen3:
- Custom Endpoint ( Vanity URL ) support is still not available in OIC Gen3
- Network Access option not available
- Storage of File server is 500G
- Concurrent file server connection is max to 50 connections per service instance
- Activity stream displayable rows is 5000 rows
- For tenancies that use identity domains, you must create the Oracle Integration 3 instance in the same region as your domain stripe. You can create a domain stripe in any region.
- For tenancies that do not use identity domains, you must create the Oracle Integration 3 instance in the same region as your IDCS stripes.
